Frequently Asked Questions

Navigating the recruiting process can be complex, and having clear, reliable information is essential. This FAQ is designed to help you better understand how to use Goalie Network, what our data provides, and how it fits into your overall recruiting strategy.

Goalie Network is built to give athletes and families a more informed, structured approach to recruiting—but it is not a recruiting service. The information provided is intended to guide your decisions, not make them for you.

We encourage all users to approach the process proactively, use the data strategically, and take full ownership of their recruiting journey. For deeper guidance, including outreach strategies, timing, and templates, refer to the Goalie Network Recruiting Guide.

What is included in the roster data?

Our roster data includes current goalkeepers across college programs, along with graduation years (Sr, Jr, So, Fr) and relevant indicators such as transfers, international players, and redshirt status. This gives you a clearer picture of team composition and depth.

How often is the data updated?

Roster data is updated continuously as recruits and transfers are made known, and at the beginning of each season when programs release updated rosters. Our goal is to provide the most current and useful information possible.

Is Goalie Network a recruiting service?

No. Goalie Network is an independent educational platform and does not provide recruiting or placement services. All information is designed to support your process, but all recruiting decisions and outcomes are the responsibility of the athlete and their family.

Can I use this data to contact coaches?

The GK Recruit Hub is a 12-month Yes. The roster data can help you identify programs and coach contacts. All outreach should be done professionally and in accordance with NCAA recruiting rules.

Is this roster data only for Division I schools?

No. We provide data across Division I, II, and III programs, allowing you to evaluate opportunities at every level. You can easily toggle between divisions to compare programs.

How can this help with my recruiting process?

By understanding team composition and roster trends, you can more effectively identify programs where you may be a strong fit. This allows you to focus your time, target the right schools, and approach your recruiting process with greater clarity and strategy. We include Division I, Division II, and Division III NCAA field hockey programs.

Are roster needs or goalkeeper openings guaranteed?

No. Any indication of roster needs or goalkeeper openings is speculative and based on publicly available information—not direct communication with college coaches. Recruiting needs can change at any time, and all information should be independently verified.

How accurate is the roster data?

Roster data is provided for reference only and may not be complete or fully up to date. While we strive for accuracy, Goalie Network makes no guarantees regarding completeness or accuracy, and users are responsible for verifying all information.

Does Goalie Network list every clinic, camp, or showcase?

No. While we update clinic and camp information as new opportunities become available, we do not guarantee that listings are comprehensive. Users are responsible for researching events and confirming all details, including schedules and cancellations.

How should I approach clinics and camps in my recruiting process?

Timing and strategy are critical. Athletes should attend clinics that align with their goals, level, and timeline to maximize exposure and development. For a detailed breakdown of when and how to engage with coaches, including email templates and timing strategies, refer to the Goalie Network Recruiting Guide.

Do I need a recruiting service or advisor?

Goalie Network is designed to give athletes and families the structure, data, and strategy needed to navigate the recruiting process independently and with confidence.

Many families use Goalie Network as a foundational resource—even when working with a recruiting advisor—to stay organized, informed, and strategic throughout the process.

For those seeking a more hands-on approach, there are reputable recruiting advisors and services that offer personalized guidance. While those services can vary significantly in approach and cost, Goalie Network provides a transparent, data-driven foundation to support smarter, more informed decisions.
